RESOLUTION NO. 2011-07-07#1717
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOLANVILLE, TEXAS, APPROVING A STATE MANDATED ANNEXATION PLAN; AND PROVIDING AN OPEN MEETINGS CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, in the legislative session, the State substantially amended annexation procedures, in that each municipality shall adopt an annexation plan as required by Section 43.052, Local Government Code;
WHEREAS, the annexation plan shall specifically identify annexations that may occur beginning on the 3rd anniversary of the date the annexation plan is adopted;
WHEREAS, any area in the city’s extra-territorial jurisdiction may continue to be annexed, subject to the procedure of Chapter 43 Subchapter C-1 of the Local Government Code;
WHEREAS, the Staff recommends that the required annexation plan for the City of Nolanville contain no planned annexations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the matter and deems it in the public interest to authorize this action.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF NOLANVILLE, TEXAS:
Section 1. This resolution shall serve as the Annexation Plan for the City of Nolanville, Texas.
Section 2. The City Council approves the State Mandated Annexation Plan which contains no planned annexations for the City of Nolanville, Texas, for 2011.
Section 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this Resolution is passed was open to the public as required and that public notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting was given as required by the Open Meetings Act.
