Texas Power Switch Makes it Easy to Switch and Save

What is the Texas Power Switch?

The Texas Power Switch is an independent group-switching program. We help Texans lower their electricity bills by bringing residents together to negotiate a better electricity rate. Interested participants register for free, without obligation. We then organize a reverse auction where the provider who can offer the lowest rate, wins. All the winning plans are simple, fixed-rate plans, 100% renewable with no hidden fees.

We then offer the winning plans to our participants who can decide whether they'd like to accept or decline the offers. If they choose to accept, we take care of the switch! We are available year-round to answer any of your questions. Before, during and after your switch.

The program is administered by iChoosr, LLC, an expert in group-buying. For the last 11 years, iChoosr has helped 2.2 million people across Europe get a better deal, saving over $760 million! Now we're excited to offer the same great deals to Texans!

Read below for more details of the participation process:

Register

Curious about getting a better deal on your energy bill? You can register in less than 5 minutes. It's free and without any obligation.

What's the rate?

The winning rate is announced once the auction has taken place.

Electricity providers across Texas will bid their lowest rates in an auction, with the lowest rate winning. We hold 3 auctions a year. There's no fine print! The winning offer is fixed-rate contract. It's as simple as that.

Personal offer

Your personal offer will be emailed to you by February 8, 2022. The personal offer is based on your energy usage, so it's tailored to your household. The offer includes a detailed explanation of the electricity plan and information on the winning provider. If you accept the offer, we take care of the switch for you, so you can sit back and relax.

Still in a contract?

Depending on your contract, we might be able to schedule your switch to avoid an early termination fee. That's why it's important to indicate your contract end date when you register.

If you're not sure about your contract situation, send us an email and we can help!

The more the merrier!

The more residents that sign up, the better our chances of getting a good deal are.

That’s why the Texas Power Switch encourages as many people as possible to join the program. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to register so we can get a better deal together!

Boil Water Advisories FAQs

If your local water district authorities issue a boil water advisory, you should use bottled water or boil tap water because your community’s water is, or could be, contaminated with germs that can make you sick.

Advisories may include information about preparing food, beverages, or ice; dishwashing; and hygiene, such as brushing teeth and bathing.
